Ingredients
- 1 pack Teriyaki Tofoo
- 100g plain flour
- 50g cornflour
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 3 spring onions
- 1 sheet Nori
- 1 tsp wasabi paste
- 2 tbsp vegan mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce
- 25g pickled ginger/sushi ginger
Get started
- Fill a large, deep pan 1/3 full of oil and heat.
- Mix together the flours with 160ml cold water and a pinch of salt to make a thick batter.
- Slice the Tofoo into squares and coat with the batter then carefully place into the hot oil.
- Cook for a few minutes on each side until the batter is golden and crunchy.
- Remove from the oil and place on a piece of kitchen paper to drain.
- Mix the wasabi paste with the mayonnaise and finely slice the spring onions and shred the nori sheet.
- Top the crispy squares with the spring onions, shredded nori, ginger and a drizzle of the wasabi mayo and teriyaki sauce.
