Teriyaki Tofoo Crispy Squares

  1. 1 pack Teriyaki Tofoo
  2. 100g plain flour
  3. 50g cornflour
  4. Vegetable oil for frying
  5. 3 spring onions
  6. 1 sheet Nori
  7. 1 tsp wasabi paste
  8. 2 tbsp vegan mayonnaise
  9. 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce
  10. 25g pickled ginger/sushi ginger
Do this stuff
  1. Fill a large, deep pan 1/3 full of oil and heat.
  2. Mix together the flours with 160ml cold water and a pinch of salt to make a thick batter.
  3. Slice the Tofoo into squares and coat with the batter then carefully place into the hot oil.
  4. Cook for a few minutes on each side until the batter is golden and crunchy.
  5. Remove from the oil and place on a piece of kitchen paper to drain.
  6. Mix the wasabi paste with the mayonnaise and finely slice the spring onions and shred the nori sheet.
  7. Top the crispy squares with the spring onions, shredded nori, ginger and a drizzle of the wasabi mayo and teriyaki sauce.
