Job Purpose
The Process Technician will play a key role in supporting process development and equipment selection initiatives by preparing and executing trials, collecting and analyzing process data using statistical tools, and presenting findings to cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in a similar technical role within a manufacturing or R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Set up, execute, and monitor lab-scale, pilot-scale, or full-scale process trials in collaboration with engineering, operations teams or external suppliers/partners.
· Collect, record, and organise process data accurately during and after trials
· Conduct statistical analysis on data sets using tools such as Minitab, Excel, or JMP to identify trends, correlations, and significant variables
· Interpret data and summarise findings with clear visualisations (e.g., charts, control charts, regression models)
· Prepare and present detailed reports including methodology, results, conclusions, and actionable recommendations for process improvements
· Ensure all trial activities comply with health, safety, and quality standards
· Maintain trial documentation, SOPs, and equipment logs
· Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and quality assurance departments
Qualifications and Experience
· Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, Applied Sciences, or a related field
· Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a process technician or process development role with exposure to experimental trials and data analysis
· Proven experience in using statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Excel)
· Strong understanding of experimental design (DOE) and root cause analysis methods (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams)

Working Conditions
· May require occasional work in lab, pilot plant, and production environments
· Physical work such as lifting, operating equipment, and wearing PPE may be involved
· Some shift flexibility may be needed to support trials during production hours

Key Responsibilities
· Preparation of monthly management accounts with detailed analysis and commentary.
· Maintain the company’s asset register and depreciation postings.
· Lead on the production of statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP.
· Manage the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
· Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and supporting sub-ledgers.
· Maintain and develop internal financial controls and procedures.
· Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
· Support cash flow management and reporting.
· Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting deadlines.
· Provide financial insights and support to senior management for strategic decision-making.
· Liaise with tax advisors and HMRC where required.
· To support colleagues with ad-hoc work.
Required Skills & Experience
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Proven experience in a financial controller or senior finance role.
Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and statutory reporting.
Proficiency in preparing and interpreting management accounts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Advanced Excel skills.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Experience in working with external auditors.
Tax experience or understanding is beneficial but not essential.
