Char Sui Tofoo Noodles

  1. 1 pack Naked Tofoo
  2. 2 tbsp vegetable oil plus extra for shallow frying
  3. 2 tbsp cornflour
  4. 20g sesame seeds
  5. 300g ready cooked rice noodles (eg Udon)
  6. 200g choy sum (washed and cut into 2inch pieces)
For the Char Sui Sauce
  1. 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  2. 2 tbsp sweet sherry
  3. 1 tsp Chinese five spice
  4. 1 tbsp soy sauce
Do this stuff
  1. Cut the Tofoo into strips, and coat with cornflour.
  2. Heat a deep frying pan and fill 1.5 inches deep with oil. When the oil is hot enough add the Tofoo strips and fry until golden. Transfer to a plate.
  3. Heat a fresh frying pan and dry fry the sesame seeds until golden. Transfer to a bowl and put to one side.
  4. In the same frying pan, add 2 tbsp oil then the char sui sauce ingredients.
  5. Stir fry for a couple of minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  6. Add the noodles and choy sum and stir fry until well combined and warmed through, then add the Tofoo.
  7. Serve sprinkled with the toasted sesame seeds.
